According to an Airbus press release, the airline group ended 2021 with a net profit of 4.2 billion euros or 5 euros 36 cents per share. The previous year saw a net loss of EUR 1.1 billion or EUR 1.45 per share. The aircraft manufacturer’s annual revenue increased to 51.2 billion euros or 4.5%. The last quarter of the reporting year ended with a 2% of the annual increase in net profit. It amounted to 1.6 billion euros or 2 euros 1 cent per share. At the same time, Airbus’s quarterly revenue showed a negative trend. It fell to 17 billion euros, or 14% compared to a year ago. The number of aircraft orders received by the airline in 2021 has increased dramatically. It amounted to 507 units against 268 units a year earlier. Guillaume Faury, head of Airbus, noted that last year the airline showed remarkable results after a difficult 2020. This was made possible thanks to the efforts of the entire team. Airbus employs almost 127,000 people.
