IDC revises its global sales forecast

IDC has revised its previously released forecast for global smartphone sales. Now the corporation expects 1.35 billion smartphones to be sold worldwide by the end of the current year, which is 5.3% more than last year results. Sales will grow 3% in 2022. According to IDC’s September forecast, sales were expected to increase by 7.4% and 3.4%, respectively. In the message of the corporation, it is noted that the deterioration of the forecast is associated with the persistence of supply component problems. They probably won’t be completely eliminated until the middle of next year. At the end of the 3rd quarter, global smartphone sales turned out to be worse than were expected. IDC experts believe in this year last quarter ending with a drop in sales in almost all world regions. They will fall by more than 9% in the Asia-Pacific countries. IDC experts believe in growing of the 5G model production in the near future, as the disruptions in the supply of components affected 4G smartphone models.
